"Heya Girls!"
Yes, of course wearing mouth-nose-masks is reasonable. But it ain’t pretty! So thank you to all the creative designers in Vienna who want to make our mask world a little bit nicer. Like Anh Tuyet: The young designer, who previously studied with La Hong, makes masks with her label Snow from organic materials (photo). The fashion label VIS A VIS also sells practical masks: Andrea Kerber, a young Viennese designer with Tyrolean roots, is currently sewing smart mouth and nose protectors in turquoise, yellow, blue and jungle in her studio around the clock. The stuff from Schwäbische Jungfrau, on the other hand, will be most elegant. In their own tailoring workshop, they make masks from densely woven cotton batiste. And violettsays produces cheeky sayings, as always, now also into your face. ("I'm going to start synchronised swimming now. Alone.") Just wait and see if we can't finish off that ugly piece with a concentrated load of style.

We can do this – together!
Your CitySpotterGirl

P.S. If you would like to help us: the CitySpotterGirl rescue operation on Startnext still runs for three more weeks. If this is too complicated for you, you can ask us for our bank account number via email. Thank you!

Savina Yannatou
The critics can’t stop gushing about this voice. Savina Yannatou is celebrated as a nightingale and "Greek goddess of song". With her ensemble "Primavera en Salonico" she plays Mediterranean-oriental music, which spans an arc from Greece and Spanish songs to the Middle East and the Balkans. A concert from the Sargfabrik will be available tonight as a free audio stream. Listening to this concert, you will find yourself dreaming of "Thousand and One Nights". By the way: 60 percent of the donations based on the principle "Pay as you wish" will go directly to the musicians.

Yeah! Hooray! A bit of art returns to the city! At the Brotfabrik, three galleries are already open again. From today the Hilger NEXT Gallery is showing contemporary works by Alberto Storari. Lilo's is back, too, the little, somewhat cheaper brother of the art trade Lichterloh. Furniture from the 1920s to 1970s can be purchased in the shop. For the photo exhibition "Zauberhaft – Kunst fürs Kinderzimmer" in the Anzenberg Gallery children were asked which pictures they would hang up. Ina Regen in the living room
An occasion to throw on the chic new online-shopping outfit. For the candlelight concert of Ina Regen getting dolled up is expressly desired. The successful dialect singer performs her wonderfully soulful songs and accompanies herself on the piano. It will surely get nice and cosy at home because you just can't help but empathise with her songs. The singer-songwriter even won the Amadeus Award 2019 for her debut album "Klee". You can watch and, more importantly, listen to her songs via livestream for free on Facebook. A concert for a special evening.

Meditate together online
With all the home office and hanging around at home, it can be hard to switch off and relax. But this has to end, no more power to the email inbox! Mindfulness trainer Brigitte Wegscheider will show today how this can work in practice. For this, she has published her course on the internet: The half-hour meditation is held via Zoom and is aimed at beginners as well as people with many years of meditation experience. Those who just want to try it out once are cordially invited, too. The offer is free of charge and is held on several days of the week. Today the meditation starts at 4 o'clock.

A must for everyone who digs 50s, 60s and 70s design! You can snatch well-preserved furniture, weird mirrors and lamps there, plus any number of rare ornamental items, but also bags and hats.

Voguing Class
La Draganda is what dance teacher Katrin Blantar calls herself – which basically means dragoness. Strong movements and a lot of self-confidence are also the focus of her Voguing dance course, which is held online today. So if you haven't become one with the sofa yet, it's best to put on some opulent clothes and dramatic make up and then join in the fiery dance moves. After all, voguing is not just a dance but a whole attitude towards life, which arose from the situation that people excluded for racist or homophobic reasons can express their identity and beauty. Powerful!

This is really a special reading hour, or rather a reading night. For the project "120 voices in 10 hours", Rabenhof Theatre and FM4 have called on people to read lines from "The Plague" by Nobel Prize winner Albert Camus. The book is about the outbreak of the plague in an Algerian coastal town. Thousands of people have taken part and many big stars have joined in. The clips can be viewed for one month free of charge and result in a marathon reading of about 10 hours. Really wow!

Komteß Mizzi
She was the secret prostitute of the Austrian high aristocracy, with her father playing the pimp. What a family! Both were arrested in 1908, but the 18-year-old drowned herself in the Danube the very same day. The case of the Viennese Maria Veith was the scandalous trial of the imperial and royal monarchy. Walter Schübler reconstructed the story using trial records in his book "Komteß Mizzi". Actress Chris Pichler and Robert Reinagl will read excerpts from it on 12 different occasions in the morning via Zoom – an oppressive image of morality from the Vienna of the Fin de Siècle.

Kitchenfairies
If you have to stay at home because of Corona, you can still be creative. That's what Ruth Wegerer thought and got to work. The journalist makes poetic creatures out of fabrics and iron wire that you have to see. She uses chandelier crystals, silk flowers, feathers, bark and antique lace to make the figurines. The wire workshop (where Art Angels are also made at Christmas) is rightly considered a secret tip in Vienna – you can view and order the kitchen fairies on Ruth's website. And we heard through the grapevine that garden fairies have already floated in there, too ;-)

The Moon at NHM
50 years after the moon landing, the images from the Apollo mission still give you goose bumps. Actually, you could have gone to see the special exhibition "The Moon. Longing, Art and Science" on this topic. Would have, could have, should have. That's probably what the museum thought, too, and has thus created a blog accompanying the exhibition. Virtual tours, videos, pictures and fascinating text contributions by curators and scientists provide insights into many areas of the exhibition. For romantics and artists they have also prepared moon poems and art.

Gentle body work
With the spiral dynamics the body wonderfully unscrews of the cramped PC and always-sitting-posture. Plus, the technique is also very easy on the joints. An online course for all levels is given today by Doris Hintsteiner from Movingart via Zoom. The movement pedagogue and dancer shows how tensions can be released through gentle body work and how the deep muscles can be activated true to the axis. The first participation is free of charge, after that the unit costs 5-10 Euros depending on your possibilities. The Zoom link is available after e-mail registration.

Online Reading „Arthur und Lilly”
CitySpotterGirl’s daughter is now all grown-up and has become a fantastic historian and journalist. Tonight she reads from her book “Arthur und Lilly”, in which she tells the unusual life story of Arthur Kern. She describes the touching friendship between herself and the old engineer from America and gives insight into the history of the children’s transports, in which countless people were involved in order to save a handful of children like Arthur from the Holocaust. The reading will be streamed on Youtube free of charge, you can also ask questions. Proud mama :-)

Dogenhof Take Away
It was only in March that the cool Dogenhof with its unusual kitchen (they cook exclusively over an open fireplace) opened, and soon after that all the restaurants were closed. This Friday and Saturday, however, you can finally – at least for a few hours – smell the scent of glowing charcoal and the best food again. Perfectly filtered by masks, naturally ;) What exactly will be available for take away is not quite clear yet, but what’s decided so far are: char from the wood fire, fresh buffalo salad (with Paget cheese) and Dogensandwich with crispy porchetta. Life has us again! Almost.
