"Heya Girls!"
You know how it is with spies, they don’t like to be noticed. I, too, move around the city incognito, investigate in secret, and try out new venues and shops anonymously. It’s very rare for me to drop my disguise and step in front of the curtain. Like this Thursday. Because I’m honoured to be invited to the infamous women’s club “alpha” – I will be interviewed “in public”, so to speak. So if you’d like to find out how this whole spying business works, you’re hereby cordially invited. The interview will focus on CitySpotterGirl’s books. Because I actually founded a publishing business a couple of years ago as well, called “Wundergarten”. (And to be honest, “publisher” wasn’t even on my life plan – it’s incredible what kind of remarkable surprises life springs at you sometimes ;-) “Wundergarten” publishes mainly Vienna guides and, as of recently, also women’s books like “Das Buch der Tage” – a diary which highlights the monthly cycle. So ladies, come in large numbers! I’m looking forward to it!

Eivør
The name leads you into the right direction – singer Eivør is indeed from the far North, or more precisely, from the Faeroe Islands. And the “Faeroean Björk”, as she is often called, is an allround talent: not only does she sing powerfully, unconventionally, and breathtakingly beautifully, she also composes music herself and at the same time, she’s also a painter, story teller, and poetess. Wow, someone was really smooched by the muse ;-) The blonde elfin soprano is also a captivating live performer, her shows are heartwarming and full of temperament. Listen in here!

As you know, fortune is fickle, but today, psychologist Angela Winkler gives suggestions in her kick-off speech on how to tame it and make it stay with you, so that you may be permanently happy. Because there’s actually a lot you can contribute to that. The outer circumstances like relationship status and wallet contents are really decisive – which is confirmed by research on happiness, by the way. A nice little idea in advance: collect happy little moments, write them down and put them into a jar. And whenever you need it, just pull one out and remember that nice moment!

Flea market goes Fünfhaus
Nice flea market at cool location! The organisers have known each other since the births of their first children, which is also when they held their first flea market. It quickly became bigger than kids’ clothes, though, and by now, they also have tons of clothes for “big” people, including many hip and barely worn pieces for great bargain prices and neat accessories from bags to belts! For the first time, the friends-flea market is taking place at the concept store eben44 this year – which has the advantage that, thanks to a pop-up, you can also snatch some pretty (new!) Experiencing nature-blender-workshop
In her nature-gardening shop in Simmering, Regina Jakubek grows wild herbs, fruit, vegetables, and berries. In between all of that, little havens have come about, like a greenhouse as creative space, a little magical forest, or a campfire site. This year, the friendly city-gardening shop opens its doors to one day-workshop guest for the first time, first up is a smoothie course. Lebenwert-lady Lydia Fillbach shows five blender recipes with vitamin bombs from young plants to tree leaves, you’ll harvest the healthy greens yourself on site, of course. Obviously, she’s telling you this not completely at random but because the good man is here in the city right now ;-) He will be one of the speakers at today’s International Animal Welfare Summit; the star-artist has recently proven his humanitarian engagement by making the refugee documentary “Human Flow”. With other experts of economics, politics and science, like author and activist Raj Patel, they will discuss key questions like “Animal welfare – question of the future or luxury problem?” in lectures but also panel discussions. The performers of the new and third play “badluck reloaded” (following “badluck” and “badluck aleppo”) come from Iraq, Iran, Syria or Afghanistan and play scenes that highlight their own existence and their artistic survival in Austria. Do you need to have a Master’s degree in Environmental Management to be such a good baker? Well, it worked for Raphaela ;-) The likable young confectioner for vegan and gluten-free patisserie has been baking for various restaurants for years, now, at the beginning of the month, she has opened her own café together with her boyfriend. It’s bright and friendly – and on the stylish counter, you can find chocolate-peanut butter cake next to zucchini blueberry pie, brownies and tiramisu cake. They serve warm meals for lunch, the lentil curry with sweet potatoes was excellent. Really damn cosy here!
