"Heya Girls!"
It’s been a long, long time since the story of one of the finest manufacturers of this country began at the Wieden (almost exactly where Your favorite newsletter is created). Today, the exquisite welted shoes from Ludwig Reiter are considered the most beautiful shoes in the world by their many regular costumers. And they also prove that tradition can be modern as well. A few years ago the company moved to Donaustadt and ever since then the fine shoes are manufactured in the center of a park in the wonderfully renovated Estate Süßenbrunn. And that is exactly where an autumn market is taking place for two days and you just have to attend! Because: factory outlet with many shoes on sale, limited Maronibrater-boots, purses and belts! And: a Lena Hoschek pop-up store with unique pieces on sale! And: fine things from small manufacturers like Vanportrait and Pfefferei. But above all this is a great opportunity to explore an unknown part of Vienna. With a village flair, idyllic and smart – like in a British country novel. Sometimes it is hard to believe how beautiful our city is!

Wishing you a magical week

Lania
A very fine concert just as much for jazz lovers as for pop fans! The Austrian band Lania proves to be very multifaceted with their wide range of music from quiet subtly breakable sounds to energetic driving sound clouds. The four charismatic musicians around singer Stefanie Fettner released their debut album in 2014 and tonight they will be presenting their second work “Airy” at the Sargfabrik, with which they will also be touring through Europe. Played with passion and swing but also sensitive and goose bumps inducing. Listen in here!

Crime scene: separation
Everybody has had to go through it: separations hurt and turn your life upside down, divide groups of friends and families. Fortunately, a separation can also work out differently! Author and court psychiatrist Heidi Kastner can tell you many stories about it. She paints a very differentiated psychogram of separations in her newest book and uses many interesting case stories to show how to clean up the shattered remains of a past relationship without too much collateral damage. By the way, today’s book launch will be moderated humorously by Angelika Hager aka “Polly Adler”.

Barts Pop-up Store
There are stores that are closed for the cold season and others are in high season – and that works out perfectly in this case: today the iconic hat label Barts from Amsterdam moves into the Eis-Greißler store at Mariahilfer Straße. During the winter you can get warming beanies, hot hats and super soft giant scarves there – depending on the weather until the beginning or the end of March. For the blue-eyed people they offer a flattering new “Shades of Blue” collection, but the beanies – from fine to rough knit, with bobble or without – are also available in many different colors. Opening drinks at 17:00!

Central Cemetery Autumn Walk
The CitySpotterGirl does like to visit cemeteries time and again. The silence has a very soothing effect and it really calms you down to walk around old gravesites, read ancient inscriptions and think about how everything will eventually come to an end. Today the Central Cemetery can be explored during a special guided tour. It will include all kinds of overgrown corners, imposing monuments and graves of honor. Also part of the tour will be a visit of the extremely bizarre funeral museum. And in order for it to become even more Viennese: you should definitely take the tram 71, also called “Gießkannenexpress” (watering can express), to get there ;-)

Ikebana exhibition
How nice! A short exhibition at the district office of the 9th district Alsergrund intertwines delicate Japanese floral art with powerful poetry from Erich Fried. Ikebana, the art of arraigning flowers, is a century old tradition in Japan. Initially Zen monks and samurais where seeking harmony and concentration through it. Sculptures are created from flowers, twigs and leafs. These sculptures are supposed to portray the soul of the plants and the changing of the seasons and they should also evoke different moods. For the exhibition the Ikebana artists were inspired by Erich Fried. Last day today!

Because that is where the leading wineries of the up and coming red wine region stretching from the Arbesthaler hills to the Leitha mountains are presenting their delicious products: ranging from the much praised 2015 Rubin Carnuntum to cult cuvees and single vineyard wines. autumn affairs
Tonight at the Schwarzberg there will be no less than three promising singer/songwriters performing an evening full of unobtrusively catchy tunes. Melodi Kayis, born in Ankara, is a violinist who is studying at the Vienna Konservatorium at the moment and musically she is reaching out in the direction of pop and jazz. Camilla Glück from Vienna feels more at home with pop and folk. She will be supported by Julian Griss playing the fingerpicking guitar. The soulful part of the evening comes from German Annika Lange who lives in Vienna and who will be accompanied by a piano. Just go and let yourself be surprised

 Albertina, Koloman Moser
Colored woodcut in Vienna around 1900
Around 1900 Vienna was a melting pot of cultures and arts; it was at the same time a metropolis of exquisite taste and the culture of decadence. Against this backdrop artists like Carl Moll and Koloman Moser discovered one of the oldest print methods in a completely new way: the colored woodcut. The Albertina honors this up until now rarely regarded chapter of the Viennese art nouveau era with a big exhibition and brings together around 100 extraordinary works from its own collection. Elegant ladies, exotic animals and peaceful snow-covered landscapes are beautiful to look at. Opening is today!

The Robbers
Schiller, interpreted in a bold and modern way: Matthias Hartmann took the play “The Robbers” and turned it into a multimedia spectacle. The actors on stage move between virtual rooms and interact through recorded sequences with actors like Friedrich von Thun or Harald Serafin. And that is how a film is created live on stage – with 8 different cameras and a multitude of screens, special effects and film music, composed especially for this play. Oh yeah, the play is about two brothers – one of them a traitor, the other one only wanting good things, but eventually killing his girl in the end.
