"Heya Girls!"
Summer also brings summer cinemas! The chill open-air cinema on the roof of the main library relies on good weather until 10 September and shows great cinema on Vienna's highest screen for three months. And because this is already the 20th season, they are celebrating: with current highlights, festival successes and the best from 20 years of “Kino am Dach”. Fresh popcorn, snacks and ice cream for a romantic evening at the movies are available on site, and you're even allowed to bring dogs. In case of bad weather, of course, there will be no screening – and that also applies to the Volxkino. Which starts next Wednesday and will then wander through the city for two months as an open-air cinema. The screenings will take place in parks, courtyards, on the Gürtel and on the outskirts of the city. Always with free admission. There is “Triangle of Sadness” by Ruben Östlund as well as American Werewolf and the wonderful film “Mermaids don't cry” (photo) with the once again terrific Stefanie Reinsperger. It's going to be a nice summer!
Wishing you an entertaining week,
Your CitySpotterGirl
Kino am Dach, roof of the Hauptbücherei, Urban-Loritz-Platz 2a, 1070 Vienna. Until 10 September. 10 €. Web Volxkino, 14 June – 16 September. Free entry. Web

Caché Wien x Karma Food
“Caché” means “hidden” in French. And CitySpotterGirl finds everything that is still unknown particularly exciting, of course! Just like the “Caché Wien”. Hiding behind it is Lisa, who cooked her way through various bistros and a Michelin-starred restaurant in France. Now the Viennese is back home and has taken up residence in the garden of Karma Food with her husband Arnaud. There, starting today, she will serve bistro flair at its finest for four weeks with refined à la carte délices. We, in any case, have already made ourselves comfortable at the little table with its chequered tablecloth ;-)

Niavarani: Midsummer Night’s Dream
A guy turns into a donkey and sleeps with the fairy queen – Shakespeare's “A Midsummer Night's Dream” is perfect for a grandiose and witty Niavarani reinterpretation: enchanted by demons, you could fall in love with the person sitting next to you in what is likely the most romantic theatre location and no longer feel inclined to go home with your husband. And while the poltergeist distributes love hormones and the elf king and queen fight over their adopted child, it becomes clear: when lovers promise each other eternal desire and then love someone else – then it was Puck!

| Augarten Wien |
 |
Augarten Manufaktur
Founded in 1718, the Augarten porcelain factory in Vienna is the second oldest in Europe. Today, as in the past, every piece is made by hand – and is still bought by royals all over the world. Now the royal feeling is available for much less: until 10 June, the factory sale is taking place in the manufactory and in the Augarten shop in the first district. And here you can get porcelain pieces of the pure white and painted goods from the 1st and 2nd choice for up to 80% less! The Masterpiece pieces with Biedermeier garland are small works of art and unique pieces, and the “Melon” mocha service is also reduced by half.

Atelier Sitzfläche
Anyone who has placed their posterior on valuables so far has probably made a detour to Atelier Sitzfläche occasionally. In addition to great vintage armchairs from 1900-1980, the interior design temple always has original new designs to offer – such as two Thonet bentwood stools united to form a bench. After the last three years in the Sonnwendviertel, the seating professionals are now moving from our favourite city to Mittelburgenland – and so until the end of June, you can still snatch design fauteuils and chairs that are up to 40 percent off. Perfect for a little spring make-over!

Tour: Prater-Ateliers
Architecture-wise, we are quite spoiled in our favourite city! Even so, there are still those architectural gems that really amaze. For example, the Prater Ateliers – the last exhibition pavilions of the Vienna World's Fair of 1873! Until today, these magnificent buildings have served as studios for renowned artists and, since beauty is not finite, they now deserve a little face tuning. But before the renovation gets underway, there are currently weekly guided tours through the area and the associated wild garden. Wow effect guaranteed!
Meeting point: main entrance Prater-Ateliers, Meiereistraße 3, 1020 Vienna. 9 June 15:30. 16 €. Web

Kotanyi Grill Pop-up
Fancy a barbecue? Now you don't even have to argue with the neighbours about the smell! Because for 2 days, the MQ gets all spicy hot and very smoky: spice luminary Kotanyi will set up a hip barbecue container and chill-out area in front of the main entrance and show how easy, varied and exciting it is to prepare food on a hot grill. Whether meat, seafood or vegetables – there's the right powder to spice up every BBQ treat. And as a topping, TV chef Alexandra Palla and the Kotanyi barbecue team provide plenty of inspiration for the grill at home!

Sidai Design
When women work hand in hand and cross continents... Sabina Ebner, who sells her pretty rings and necklaces at SchmuckStück, travelled to Tanzania in 2021. The result of the trip was a cooperation with Sidai Design: the label collaborates with Maasai women who refine their centuries-old craft of beadwork into contemporary jewellery collections. This provides the women with a regular income that strengthens their independence – the handmade beauties are now on sale and can be snapped up at a discount of up to 20 percent!

Marie Lang
“What about wrinkles and getting older? What designer are you wearing? And who looks after your child when he or she is sick?” Yes, it's always the same questions and always us women are supposed to answer them. One of us got fed up and has been asking them of the lords of creation for two years! Journalist Marie Lang has filled 50 podcast episodes and a book with her question-and-answer game, and today she takes stock live on stage. She gives away private secrets, parodies herself and welcomes cabaret artist Gerold Rudle. Relentlessly direct, critical and with a good dose of humour!

Hotel La Katz Extravaganza
Meow! Today, it’s getting wild at The Leo Grand Hotel, because the “Salon Jungle” turns into a pop-up boutique for the seductively wild silk dreams of the label “La Katz” for 3 days. Besides extravagant eye-catchers of organic silk, the latest creations by the Queen of Silk, Laura Sänger, are up for grabs. For example, her first Leo-print silk fabric as well as precious velvet coats in Yves Klein blue – all in the exclusive pre-sale, even before the collection goes online. Shopping with the Grand Hotel-glam is still possible until Tuesday, Asian tea specialties and fine champagne provide refreshment!

hideaway.
At Werk X, chairs give way to a glass bungalow today. The audience stands around it and is allowed to shamelessly gape inside. What you can discover during this voyeuristic activity? A four-person ensemble having a discussion: They lustfully fish for clichés in the nostalgia box and serve them garnished with feminist perspectives. In the process, they question so-called romantic love, ponder families and other constructs and ask themselves who enjoys the luxury of not wanting to deal with politics at all sometimes? And who is allowed to relax in the “hideaway”? Very entertaining!

Yoga & Hiking
We all know what yoga is capable of: it lowers stress levels, stretches the muscles, strengthens the immune system – and makes you happy! Especially when it takes place outdoors and in motion, like Eva Schatz's yoga hikes. Because instead of focusing only on the physical aspect of the well-being sport, today the soul is also flattered. Yoginis meet for joint asanas in the Lainzer Tiergarten, after which you bring your spirit into harmony with nature on a hike to the Tenno Kogo Stone with targeted breathing exercises. The reward is a picnic together. Highly relaxing!

Moonlight Breakfast
The Romanian band had played through exactly five rehearsals together before they played their first gig – and they opened for “Jamiroquai” in front of 35,000 people! Who are the musical high-flyers? Voice talent Christie, who first had to be persuaded to sing, and multi-instrumentalist Bazooka. By the way, the two are now married and have mastered their baptism of fire with thunderous applause. After performances around the globe, they are now heating up the stage at Porgy & Bess with their raw style mix of electro, beat, soul, swing and retro!

Digital assaults in (ex-)relationships
And just like that, the photo of yourself in new lace lingerie is sent to your lover. What can be exciting when you're newly in love can quickly turn into a huge problem after a break-up or in the case of a quarrel. Shared intimacy or messages can be abused, public humiliation, insults and blackmail are the result. How women can powerfully fend off cyber-violence caused by (ex-)relationships and how they can defend themselves psychologically and emotionally will be learned together today in the online workshop of “Women advise women”. It starts at 18:00!

Klezmer: di libn layt
Klezmer returns to the Rote Kapelle! The rousing Yiddish folk music has a long tradition in Vienna and will be performed today by the Viennese klezmer band “di libn layt”. The band is supported by the Ukrainian fiddler Mikhail, so apart from new klezmer pieces they will also perform Ukrainian dances. The “Flatbush Valtz” from New York, for example, will be there, because the Ukrainian special guest is also a master on the “musical saw”. Since admission is also free on top of everything, you should be quick to make sure you get a seat!

Sumpf
A swamp in the middle of Vienna – exciting! But there’s nothing damp or musty at Barish's. The creative whiz kid prefers to stand out with punky Berlin eccentricity in his self-designed 74sqm: Fishnet tops hang from the ceiling, transparent tube dresses dangle from rust-brown poles, pink and yellow CamperLabs pose casually on the metal shelves and the unisex fashion is tried on behind latex curtains. The brands are just as extra, for you won't find anything like the Ottolinger label (beloved by Beyoncé!) anywhere else in Vienna. And the best way to see how heeled boots also look super-stylish on men is to check out Barish's outfits!

Don’t call it pizza
The pizzaiolo who work here consider their Neapolitan craft as an art form and their pizza therefore as an art object. And not only because they top the dough wheels with pistachio cream and gold leaf, but also because the dough is double fermented. And yes, it's true: The pizza here tastes amazingly good. A lot of love goes into it, and for the veggies they even make the organic tofu themselves. The food is served in a darkly styled ambience with mirrored walls and designer lamps, which reminds you a bit of the eighties. And in the morning, it’s a cool café with perfect espresso and Italo breakfast.
