"Heya Girls!"
Now this is something for crime fans. Ladies who always guess along with “Tatort” and are on a first-name basis with the inspectors Lynley, Barnaby and Banks. This coming Sunday you can investigate a case live for a whole day – together with hundreds of other participants! German profiler Suzanne Grieger-Langer has had a complete world developed for an online event in which participants can move around freely via the internet using their computer mouse. There is a situation centre, forensic medicine, an investigation centre, access to files – just like in a real detective story. And real experts are there, too. Case analysts, forensic experts and lawyers can be questioned and provide valuable information at any time. The case to be solved, however, will only be revealed on Sunday! The whole thing is called “The Profiler” and brings mystery group-games to a completely new, authentic level. Anyone can take part, including crime novices, of course (do they even exist?). Well, we’re looking forward to it…

Wishing you a mysterious week,
Your CitySpotterGirl

 Wiener Lichtblicke
Wiener Lichtblicke
Victoria Coeln lights up the whole of Vienna with her light art. She projects light graphics and silhouettes on house walls and pavements, drawing attention to social injustice! Today it's the 8th district's turn. Lisette Model Square, for example, is named after the Austrian photographer who became a star in the USA and is virtually unknown in Vienna today. Besides this one, only 492 traffic areas out of a total of 6,768 in Vienna are currently named after women. After the illumination there will be a hip-hop rally by EsRap & Kid Pex!

 Vinodea
Frauenzimmer-Wine
Traditionally, winemaking has been more of a male-dominated area. The winemaker Madlaina Sladecek-Dosch wants to change that! In her wine shop Vinodea, only wines from female winegrowers are sold. Today's tasting, however, is a bit more special: The four young female winemakers of “Frauenzimmer” combine grapes from two different Austrian wine-growing regions. Their white wine is a cuvée from the Traisental and the Wachau, while the red wine comes from Carnuntum and the Neusiedlersee area. An exciting idea – cheers!

Little Element
Summer-sun-sunshine in the bitterly cold Viennese winter. Lisa Aumaier aka Little Element makes dream-pop that brings back memories of pre-pandemic surf holidays – even if it was only imaginary ;-) The musician from Innsbruck plays a wonderfully cosy mixture of folk and electronic music that makes you want to lie down in it to fuel up on a bit of carefree relaxation. Today's opening band Nature Swim is a bit more melancholic in nature, but no less dreamy, combining soft electric guitar with floating synthesiser sound clouds. Beautiful!

Koom Posh
Corona was to blame. It was only more than a year after the originally planned premiere that the Serapions Theate was able to present its new production. And with much more time available, Koom Posh became a far more elaborate production than planned. The (often haunting) play is based on the drama “The City of Justice” by Lev Lunts, in which a group of revolters set out to find the city of justice and end up in a city full of conformists. Musical theatre, dance, drama and an elaborate stage set make up the well-known Serapions Theatre mixture!

A shop is a shop is a shop
“What does shopping mean to you?” The former shop of Kunsthalle is currently used for a somewhat different shop project with students of the Angewandte. For example, you can buy an energy drink that stops your heart, postcards that have already been filled out and can be sent on the spot, or a second, thicker skin made of latex because your own isn't always enough. But the focus is on the experience of the sales talk: the sales assistants are psychologically trained lifestyle consultants. Everyone should have the feeling of being a welcome guest. Very quirky and quite different!

 Elke Freytag
Elke Freytag
And then you may continue your shopping at the next Viennese designer: Elke Freytag is taking a winter break, and before that the studio will have to be cleaned up! She has to make room for the spring collection, after all. Individual pieces and items from last year's collection are therefore available from 55 euros. Freytag's designs are inspired by the style of the 1960s: miniskirts and polka dots can be found in almost every one of her collections! Which means her designs are not only kind of timeless, but are also offered at up to 60 percent off until today. Let the shopping Saturday begin.

Schmäh d'Amour
Comedy & love advice in one promises this evening with Walid Azak. The Tunisian-French cabaret artist has lived in Vienna for over 10 years and lovingly explains the differences between Paris, the city of love, and Vienna, a larger city on the Danube. Is there a sizzling eroticism when you reply as a compliment in Vienna: “How do you look, Schatz? Great, no worries!” Probably not. But don't worry, Walid Azak is there to turn us grumpy Viennese into perfect lovers: “Do you speak French? Unfortunately not? Not even the language?” ;-)

This flea market at Cafe Siebenstern is all about budding spring fever. In the event space behind the café, many a hipster dream will come true this weekend. More than 400 vintage pieces, from glittering bell-bottoms to colourful 90s windbreakers, have been lovingly collected from flea markets all over Europe and were shipped to Vienna. Because that’s the concept behind RahatLook, which hand-picks second-hand fashion from the 1970s to the 2000s and sells it regularly at pop-ups. New pre-loved clothes are stocked up every hour.

Nymphen in Not
They’re back from Coronistan and throw on their heels to dive further into the land of self-inflicted everyday insanity! Polly Adler alias Angelika Hager is back – with her usual witty and charming new Sunday matinee show. Apart from the author herself, Maria Happel and Petra Morzé are also part of the girl power combo. Thematically, the nymphs swim in the big topical waters such as power ageing, self-optimisation, dealing with all kinds of enraged citizens in a neurosis-friendly way, Instagramitis and this idiot's occupation called love.

Dance workshop for One Billion Rising
Worldwide, one woman in three will be beaten or raped in her lifetime. To set a visible sign against violence, American feminist Eve Ensler has declared Valentine's Day as V-Day. With the motto “One Billion Rising”, millions of women worldwide take to the streets on 14 February to dance together for a life free of violence. This year OBR turns 10 years old! To make sure that as many people as possible can join in the dancing on this anniversary, there is a free dance workshop today to learn the choreography to the song Break the Chain by Tena Clark. Cool!

Drawing in the Museum
The ethnologist and illustrator Astrid Esterlus gives an introduction to drawing objects. For this purpose, the current Weltmuseum exhibition “...from Afghanistan” will be explored together. The exhibition was curated by Afghans living in Vienna and tells their individual stories and about everyday life in the shadow of the Taliban. Esterlus trains the eye for details and explains what you should pay attention to when drawing. Then it's time to get started! You have to bring your own paper and pens. The workshop price already includes admission to the museum!

Kulturgarage
Seestadt is getting a new event location! In future, the Kulturgarage will host theatre, musicals, cabaret, exhibitions and more. Operated by the Wiener Volkshochschulen, cultural events will take place here that are also affordable for the smaller purse. On today's open day, there are free guided tours through the house, an exhibition of the small gallery and a play from the musical Dracula, which celebrates its premiere here on 24 February! There will also be short workshops, such as – in keeping with the musical – a crash course in Romanian with vampire references ;-)

Consches
Once again, we have a smart new eco-fashion store in town. At Consches, you'll find wildly patterned dresses, tops and trousers made from eco-friendly materials. Design newcomer Cornelia Lindner founded her exciting and often colourful fashion label as an alternative to the black-grey-beige basics of other fair-trade brands. The clothes are designed in Vienna and produced in Styria. The name Consches is a mixture of “conscious” and her nickname “Consch”. Great: clothing sizes from XS to XXL also allow plus-size ladies to find what they are looking for!

wunderladen
La vie en rose! This sweet little fashion café is a good mood recipe. It's rare to find such a charming and loving place in Vienna – and yes, the world looks much prettier with a glass of rose spritzer in your hand. Jewellery, bags and bridesmaids' dresses can be bought here in the midst of vintage living room flair, but you can also drink coffee and feast on chocolate cake. Afternoon tea is even nicer: you take a seat on the rocking sofa and are treated to homemade scones (from the mum), clotted cream, sandwiches, tea and champagne. Tastes at least as good as in Cornwall!
