"Heya Girls!"
There are places in Vienna where you would never believe you are in a city of millions. In the picturesque Kellergasse in Stammersdorf, for example, or at the end of it, a little to the left up the Bisamberg, in the Weinhandwerk. In theory it's a Heuriger, in reality it's one of the most idyllic places in Vienna. And it is exactly there – in the vineyards of Stammersdorf – that you can start the day in a particularly beautiful way this Sunday. At the “Selfcare Sunday in the Garden” you can enjoy the magical view over Vienna, find inner balance during a guided meditation and strengthen body and mind with a relaxing yoga flow (for all levels). Afterwards, you can learn about edible wild herbs in the vineyard and enjoy a vegan wild herb brunch. With wild herb tapas and spreads, homemade bread and cakes, wild herb lemonades and chai lattes. Now how does that sound?

Wishing you a relaxed week,
Your CitySpotterGirl

SYLGV Stock Sale
This week the motto will be Support Your Local Girlgang! The designers of Austrian labels Amateur and Kamen are having a bargain pop-up with all their fashion friends: Hip clothes by Ebenbild and Milk, vegan bags by Saborka and the adorable swim creations by Margaret & Hermione will be on sale for up to minus 50 percent all week long. The SYLGV concept is as simple as it is ingenious: buy locally from Austrian labels that are run by women. This way, you don’t just support the women in design businesses, but you’ll also be smartly dressed at the same time ;-)

 Weltmuseum
George Nuku
This could become the greatest exhibition of this summer. The Weltmuseum presents the first comprehensive show by Maori artist George Nuku. The New Zealander has browsed collections from the Natural History Museum and the Weltmuseum and combines them with his own magnificent works of art hand-carved from Plexiglas and polystyrene. (These were largely made with volunteers in Vienna.) Both the exhibition in the museum and the installation “Bottled Ocean” in the Theseus Temple have a clear message: the inseparability of nature and culture.

Tracing important women
Learning creative writing while strolling through the 1st district? Works like this: On the guided walk you follow the footsteps of Austrian women authors to various stations. The impulses for writing come from their stories and fates, depending on what their lives trigger in you. The tour is led by author and psychotherapist Karin Macke, who reads Elfriede Gerstl's texts in her favourite café and reveals details about the author's life in front of Ilse Aichinger's house. At the workshop, your texts don’t have to be perfect, neither smoothly polished nor following all the rules. For beginners and advanced folks!

Pop up under palms
If you're looking for something special, you should drop by the 8th district today. For 2 days, beautiful things are sold in the Ludo Hartmann courtyard in Albertgasse, lined with palms and columns. All the designers and vintage lovers are from Josefstadt: Robert La Roche, who caused a sensation with his extravagant glasses all the way to Hollywood, with originals from his private archive. Hannah Stippl has exclusively produced wrapping paper with rolled patterns, Katharina Husslein shows jewellery, Schatto his beautiful paper boxes. There's also furniture and collages!

They are already outstanding musicians and vocal artists on their own, who carry away every audience. What will it be like when the three power women are on stage together? You can find out tonight ;-) Austria's top blues and roots export Meena Cryle, the spirited all-rounder from gospel to Viennese song Tini Kainrath and the emotionally charged international jazz musician Simone Kopmajer will celebrate their premiere at the Theater am Spittelberg. “Soul Power Heart” is the name of their first joint concert. Open Community Gardens Day
There are more and more of them! Urban gardening has become as much a part of Vienna as the sausage stands – and today numerous community gardens invite you to chat with the gardeners. And of course to inspect the greenery, sorry, the floral and veggie splendour. In the 22nd district you can visit the LoBauer:innen, at Arche Noah you can learn how to grow organic vegetables on your balcony, the garden in the Ella-Lingens-Hof offers a plant exchange and the community garden at the Donaukanal will also be a hive of activity. If you want, you can start a seed swap circle and try treats from the gardens.

 Klimt Villa Wien
Girlfriend Day at the Klimt Villa
Nice Saturday outing for Gustav groupies! At today's Girlfriend Day at the Klimt Villa in Hietzing, you can meet the painter's great-granddaughter, fashion designer Brigitte Huber, who will enrich the curator's tour with anecdotes from the family history, and then sip a glass of champagne in the salon afterwards. In addition, it is wonderful to take a stroll through the beautifully renovated rooms of Klimt’s very last place of work. The Klimt Villa itself has quite a varied history and served as the painter's studio and place of creativity until his death in 1918.

Long night of Demeter farms
CitySpotterGirl is a huge fan of Meinklang bread (and yes, the baker is very handsome, to be honest). Meinklang, a gourmet paradise on Margaretenstraße, is the farm shop of a Demeter farm on Lake Neusiedl – and if you've always wanted to know what goes on at a biodynamic Demeter farm, tonight is your chance. If you fancy a country outing, visit the Demeter farmers and vintners in the countryside around Vienna. If you want to learn about the journey from the stone mill to the finished sourdough bread, though, and bake it with them in Vienna, register in time at Meinklang.

Hohe Wand summer toboggan run
Top speeds of up to 40 km/h, almost 100 metres difference in altitude: the season for summer tobogganing is officially open again. Until the end of August, you will be able to indulge in the open-air speed rush and whizz down the Hohe Wand. The 850-metre-long track with its many curves and the final jump guarantee adrenaline and thrills. If you don't like it quite so wild, you’ll just have to step on the brakes. Or go sit in the bistro and watch ;-) If you like some variety, you could also switch to a mountain bike and dash down one of the 11 trails.

Central Cemetery – City of the Dead
The Central Cemetery is the largest city in Austria with its 3 million “inhabitants”. Opened in 1874, it offers space for everyone: graves of honour for personalities from art, culture and politics, soldiers' graves, memorials, tombs of various faiths and of course graves for the many Viennese. Today you can explore the Zentralfriedhof during a guided tour, with its overgrown corners, imposing funerary monuments, ancient inscriptions and curiosities. To match the occasion: be sure to take tram line 71, the “Gießkannenexpress”, to the City of the Dead ;-)

Little Rosies Kindergarten
A 13-piece (!) band with a sound somewhere between artistic noise scenery and very virtuoso jazz. The collective Little Rosies Kindergarten is young and their genre is “psychedelic” jazz: dark timbres, groovy improvisation and playful breaks in style. The experimental trance sounds of the Viennese band have already been reviewed in the New York magazine “The New York City Jazz Record”. The series of concerts by these innovative musicians ends today at the Porgy & Bess. You can either be there in person or listen via livestream (free of charge). A must-listen!

Michelbeuern: Audacity
Playful and dreamy or straightforward and clear, but definitely young, fashionable and refined, also extravagant and self-confident – these are the collections of this year's graduating class of the Michelbeuern fashion college (where fashion designers have been trained for over 100 years). The young fashion designers have worked hard for four semesters and want to show off their skills today at the “Audacity” fashion show.  A total of 24 students will present their work and take their first steps into the public eye with their fashion designs. We are curious!

Give away garden party
Who has something to give away? Put it in your backpack and head to Cobenzl! There, the SOL association is celebrating a garden party with a sustainable add-on: everyone can bring items that they would like to give away. The only condition is that they are usable, clean and in working order. If you want to bring more than you can fit in a bag, you should reserve a spot. Anything left over will be donated to a Kost Nix shop. Everyone should bring their own barbecue and drinks, wellies are available for a game of farmer's golf on the side lawn ;-) Wonderful idea!

 Sheyn
Sheyn.
Anyone who has ever seen a vase or bowl by Sheyn. will recognise it immediately. The unusual design is reduced and striking at the same time, ultra-modern and yet timeless. And the fact that the pieces often look like architecture is not surprising – one half of the designer duo is an architect. The hip pieces are produced on site (from maize starch!) with the 3D printer, 24 pieces run more or less around the clock to satisfy the huge demand. Jewellery is also on offer, and recently even large designs are printed from concrete. By the way, Sheyn is Yiddish and means beautiful. And how!

 Praterwirt
Praterwirt
After the unusual “fire cuisine” of the Dogenhof, the team has now taken on a more classical theme: Not far from the Dogenhof, a real pub has opened – with plenty of space, unpasteurised Budweiser fresh from the tank and, most importantly, its own butchery. As soon as you enter, you'll find a butcher and tempting snacks. Only behind it is the smart, minimally furnished inn. The breaded Surschnitzel is as soft as butter, the calf's liver with apples simply tastes great. And if you don't like meat, you can eat Krauttascherl or spinach dumplings. Recommended!
