Secessions: Klimt, Stuck, Liebermann
What do Gustav Klimt, Franz von Stuck and Max Liebermann have in common? All three, along with other artists, instigated fierce art rebellions in their home cities of Vienna, Munich and Berlin. Better known as the Secessions. With the motto “Everything new!”, these creative icons kicked the established art forms in the butt at the end of the 19th century and thus gave the starting signal for artistic modernism. An important symbol of the freedom of creative artists and the diversity of their art forms, which can now be admired in the new exhibition at the Wien Museum.

If you're expecting sophisticated dance choreography and concentrated reading from a sheet of music, you've definitely come to the wrong place! Jattle, Bam + Poetry is about the exact opposite. Without fixed forms and predictable movements, two teams compete against each other one after the other: Spoken words inspire live produced sounds contact movements dancing words. Die Rechnung
A table, a chair, a bottle. And a glass of wine, which the waiter serves to the guest. That's the starting point. But who is serving whom? Who does it serve? Who pays the bill in the end, or who messes up the other person's bill? In Tim Etchells' hit stage comedy, power dynamics are played out in numerous variations of the same scene, both bitterly and humorously. And in all the districts of Vienna, in very special places like the Floridsdorf football club, the Gänsehäufl or today on the Tschauner stage in Ottakring. Because power affects us all: it can be a nightmare, but it can also be hilarious.

 Freyja
Freyja - the croissant story
If you've always wanted to try one of star patissier Cédric Grolet's fluffy, crispy croissants – you can now do so in Vienna, too! Because the brand-new Freyja bakery is giving the Parisian patisserie a run for its money. Co-founder and baker Petér Dorman takes the basic French croissant recipe and adds sourdough and mixes the butter between the layers instead of into the dough – and a Freyja croissant has as many as 27 of them! Alternatively (or rather on top ;-), you can nibble your way through various mignon cakes or macarons – and watch them being made through the shop window, à la Cédric Grolet. Mjam!
